Augustinus Bader Ultimate Soothing Cream Refill
Before you buy the Augustinus Bader soothing cream refill
This is the refill for The Ultimate Soothing Cream, not the cream in its jar. Augustinus Bader sells it as a 50 ml refill option on the same product page. Two gaps in what the brand publishes are worth knowing before you order. It gives no instructions anywhere on its site for fitting the refill to the jar. And it does not state that the refill holds the same formula as the jar. It publishes a single ingredient list for The Ultimate Soothing Cream and no separate list for the refill.
The brand does not say whether a jar is required. If you are buying this cream for the first time, the full-size jar of this cream is the safer place to start.
What Augustinus Bader publishes about the packaging, and what it does not
The brand's FAQ states the glass jar, refill cup and foil lid are all fully recyclable, that the cap is not recyclable, and that recycling facilities vary by region, so check your local guidelines. A separate support article names the PP refill, carton, liner and leaflet as recyclable.
What the brand does not publish is any comparison with the original jar. No life-cycle assessment, no measured reduction in waste or emissions, no figure of any kind. A refill that is recyclable where your local program accepts it is a different claim from a refill that lowers environmental impact, and only the first one is on the record.

The cream inside it, and the brand's own figures
Augustinus Bader names The Ultimate Soothing Cream for very dry, irritation-prone, or reactive and sensitized skin, and directs it morning and evening on clean, dry skin. Its 12-week trial of 30 women aged 18 to 70 reports hydration up 188% and transepidermal water loss down 31%. A separate 12-week study of 105 women reports 100% agreeing irritated skin felt instantly soothed and 98% agreeing skin looked less red.
The first set was measured, the second is what participants said they noticed, and the brand publishes no protocol or control group for either. Both were run on the cream. There is no refill-specific testing on the record. The rest of what Nava carries for skin that reacts sits on the shelf chosen for sensitive skin.
Everything else the brand makes, from its serums and eye care to its lip, body and hair products, sits under the rest of the Augustinus Bader line.
